John, I just saw a PBS John Denver special on WLIW and there you were, looking good!! So I thought I'd try to find you. What fun to see your website. Remember me from Aspen in 1974-5? I went to John's 30th birthday party and even travelled in Florida with you for part of a tour...Are you still in touch with Jill or any of the others I roomed with? I now am hooked on Alta for skiing but would love to come to Aspen again someday. Write to me if you have time. Love, Susan

WHAT A WONDERFUL SURPRISE TO HEAR YOUR VOICE ON MY BIRTHDAY! I can't believe you remembered the date! We have been so amiss in staying in touch - finding ourselves on the web was really a nice thing. It was a good visit but hard to believe it has been two years. Will try to keep up with your schedule and make it to a concert. (Wish we could follow you to New Zealand!!) Please let us know about plans for coming east next fall - still wnat to meet that special lasy who stole your heart. Mom and dad send their best wishes, too. Blessings, Peg+

I see that your doing a lot of traveling and just maybe you might make it to the Land of Milk and Honey. There is an annual country music event called Jacob's Ladder that might interest you. Drop me a line and I'll fill you in on the family. Love you as always, Uncle Neil

Hi, I had just purchased the sheet music for Thank God I'M a Country boy. I was disappointed to see the fiddle section was not included. Could you send me a copy via email or give me directions on where I might get the sheet music fiddle section? Thank you

John, Hope you can help me local an old friend. I see on your website that he was with you in Aspen a couple of years ago. Al RED Dog Weber is a friend of mine from years ago, a room mate, and business associate. He played at my wedding with Billy and The Bachelors. I called the phone number I had for him the other night, but no longer his. I plan to be in Southern California early next month (November) and would love to visit with him. I need his current phone number and address. Can you or anyone else reading this note help me? Much appreciation for same.

John, First of all, I'd like to thank you very much for the contribution you made to the music I love. I was also wondering if you had a song book with the music you wrote. I'd love to play your music. One song in particular "In The Grand Way" which JD recorded on his Spirit Album. Thank you.

What an interesting bloke you are, John! I just came across your website accidentally on the GOOGLE search engine when I was looking for information about John Grenell. We are big fans of country music (my daughter & I), naturally we have some J.D. albums so it is great to read about the writer of such great songs. Thanks...

Hey John, A voice from the way past. I was perusing your website and saw that you had been to Ireland. My favorite place. I just finished editing my second documentary that I produced and directed there (both equestrian videos--one on a 6 day cross-country ride in the Connemara Wilderness --"The Connemara Trail-Coastal Ride" and the other on how horses are imported and transported from Ireland to the US--"When Horses Fly"). The final scene in "When Horses Fly" is a shot of me galloping my Irish horse on a Southern California beach with the Irish prayer (the same one that is featured on your website) being sung by a group("The Barbershop")that we met and filmed in an Irish Pub in Lough Rea, Co. Galway. Thought it a coincidence that I would stumble across your website and find the poem there. Good to see that you are doing well and still playing. I still play a bit now and then but not too much. I still enjoy it. I hope if you get out this way that you will give me a call and perhaps we could visit. Who knows, maybe I'll make it up Aspen way one of these days. Hello to Stephanie and Twirp and all. Would be great to see you. Best and love, BC

Hi, my mom had asked you earlier this month about a fiddle part to "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" for Troupe, and you said I could write you with some questions if I had any. I would like to know how you suggest to go about learning the fiddle part, and if you had any suggestions about how to play the style or the way I need to play it. I'm a little new to fiddle playing, so ANY tips you could give me would be great. You did REALLY good on that song, by the way :) Thank you so much for your help!

Dear John and Twirp, I am about two months away from re-locating to an old 1800's homestead in Elliott County, Kentucky from hurricanes ravaged Vero Beach, Fl.. Back around 1971 Wayne Stewart picked me up outside Twin Lakes, Colo. in his V.W.. I was hitch hiking to a farm in Boulder where eventually I had a ride back to Fl. where I had planned to pack up my belongings and was to move to Aspen as I too had fallen in love with the area. Wayne said he was a bluegrass musician living in Denver and too was in the process of making Aspen his home. He said if I get back to Aspen too look him up. Well I did just that and we became good friends. I remember well the weekend jam sessions outside the small prospectors cabin on the way up Independence Pass where I would get to sit in and strum along. You may have even been present at some. I moved back to Fl. in 1980 ( and have since long had my fill}.I used to have copies of both Poor Richards Almanac and Aspen Skyline, Wayne Stewart and Friends but probably gave them to friends somewhere along the way. I am trying to find out if Wayne is still alive and if so how to get a hold of him. P.S.- I wish I could hop a flight to Aspen this Friday. I understand Sam Bush ( Poor Richards Almanac alumni ) is performing at the Wheeler Opera House. I sure miss Aspen. I used to run the maintenance dept. at the Stonebridge Condominiums in Snowmass. Thank you for any help or suggestion with my search. Sincerely, Jay B. Jones. 772-299-1857

Hello, My 15 year old daughter has been asked to play the fiddle part of Thank God I'm A Country Boy for the Thomasville Music and Drama Troupe spring show the first weekend in May. She's been listening to the song over and over, but it sure would be helpful to have some music to look at. Can you tell us where we can find the fiddle part? Greetings from New Jersey: I think that we let you know how much we enjoyed your music almost a year ago at Boyd and Adrianne's wedding rehersal dinner at Snow Mass. We are really excited that you're coming East for Justine's 60th at the end of this month. Justine told me to invite my son and his wife - he's the one whose favorite song was "Thank God I'm a Country Boy". Looking forward to seeing you then. Barbara
